installing cutenews

Note: In order to use cutenews on your site, your site must use php. Cutenews will not work on websites that use html files for their pages. To learn how to convert your pages to php, click here.

Cutenews is a great and simple little blogging program for php users. It is simple to install! The first thing you must do is download the files from the Cutenews webiste. Click here to download the newest verision of Cutenews.

After you've downloaded and unzipped the files, you need to upload them to your webiste. It would be a smart idea to use your FTP program, i use Smart FTP, click here to download it. Select the folder named "Cutenews" and upload it to your website using your FTP program. Depending on your computer it should not take more than 5 minutes to upload all of these files!

Then you're going to right click on the data folder and all its files and folders that are in it and select CHMOD.

Once you are done that, make your settings like mine:

Now go to YOURSITENAME.com/cutenews/ (For example mine would be upbeatlyts.com/cutenews) If you did it right, you should see stuff on the page that says 'proceed installation' and from there you can make your first cutenews account! And then you can post news/blogs.

You should see a page that says something like,you've installed Cutenews correctly though, continue by clicking the "Proceed Installation" button.

Then, just simpily create and account. Once you did that you are all done installing cutenews. To get cutenews onto your site, copy and paste this code where you want the news to show up:

(For example, i would put this code in my index page, so when people go to upbeatlyts.com the news will show up on that page!)

To add a newstory for your vistors to see simply login to your cutenews account, and click "add news" and you should get a page like this:



If everything went good, your new should appear on your site!
